Posted April 17, 2008 So our new friend and super fan, Becca decided to make us some artwork for us out of the blue. Which is great because everyone knows that the best gifts are the ones that come off the cuff at the spur of the moment. But this one is extra special because it was made with her own two hands and it's fantastical. Look for yourself!! Posted April 11, 2008 Far be it from me to say anything bad about someone, but my goodness. Please, please, please, please, please, just give me the weather and traffic. This is incredible in the same type of way that I know every word to Vanilla Ice's, "Ice, Ice, Baby" is incredible. And by that I mean, it isn't incredible. Watch this and feel uncomfortable. Cheers! Steven Posted March 21, 2008 so on our travels we ran into a few bands that have had a bit more success than us. the GH craze is bound to take over the nation but until then, all we can do is compare... *hint* the GH rig is a little smaller. the frozen north... Posted March 10, 2008 hello all you webonites - grey holiday has been super busy over the last week or so. we've been on tour in michigan and indiana since the march 2nd - and for texas boys, thats a bigger deal than it sounds. it is freezing here! everyday has been pretty nasty for us even though the locals have been telling us its been a relitively mild march. either way - we've been on tour with two amazing bands -> Inhabited and Sevenglory. it has been amazing getting to know these people and listen to their music every night. we're really soaking in everything we can from both these bands because they are seriously phenomenal. if you're not familiar with their music you're absolutely missing out. so go google them or look them up on iTunes. you won't be sorry. we've been getting a stupid amount of video from this trip so whenever we can compile some stuff we'll throw it up on the web. until then, friends, stay warm and toasty. matthew 4 shows. 5 days. 3300 miles.Posted February 27, 2008 over the past 5 days Grey Holiday traveled quite a bit. quite a bit, indeed. we booked ourselves at a few places in California, which was fantastic, but we didn't really leave ourselves a great deal of travelling time to get back to Texas to play a few more shows. it was a bit of a scheduling fopaux. either way, it was super fun and we'll have some videos up soon enough to prove it! matthew What a thoughtful fan! Posted February 26, 2008 Hello friends. Happy Tuesday. I wanted to share something fantastical that a new friend of ours made for us. Teresa from California, took the time to make a video to show why she loves Grey Holiday so much. It is nothing short of amazing and you need to see it! Thank you for putting this together! California rocks. Steven
Grey Holiday Live at Stubb's BBQ
Posted February 11, 2008 Hello friends of Grey Holiday. Recently we played a show with our friends The Museum, Eliot Fitzgerald, and Sleeper Star. Here is some visual goodness that goes with that show. Sorry about how dark it is at first. It gets better keep watching. Steven Back from Ecuador Posted February 3, 2008 this past friday, we returned home from our trip to Ecuador with EGM (www.egm.tv) and we had an absolute blast. for those of you that don't know, we were given the opportunity to go and be part of the film crew on EGM's newest documentary piece called 'Grandfathers'. EGM also shot a music video for our song 'you belong to me' while we were there which we are very excited about. we have a ton of stories from our experiences there (some of which were life threatening) but we don't want to spoil any of them here! While we were part of a documentary that is a follow up on the 'End of the Spear' story, we were also the stars of another documentary about our own experiences in Ecuador. EGM will be releasing two videos a month on their website about our time there - so check back for updates and we'll let you know when they start posting! glad to be back in america - but always ready for the next adventure. Matthew Grey Holiday Live at The Curtain Club - Dallas, TX Posted January 27, 2008 Hello friends. I wanted to share some video goodness with you from our recent show in the Dallas area. Ethnographic Media (EGM)
Posted January 18, 2008 Perhaps you've heard of a company called Ethnographic Media (EGM), but for those of you who haven't, let me drop some knowledge on you. Recently I've seen several powerful movies made by this company that you should know about. EGM is a video magazine designed to explore, discuss, and act upon the stories and social issues of our time. Here are some links to help familiarize yourself with their work. ![]() Posted January 12, 2008 Here is the second part of our excursion to Cali. Matthew It's Late. Posted January 8, 2008 I should be in bed. Or cleaning my room or something useful. Countless things I could be doing right now, like... organize my ties, or learn a new language, or even read. But instead, this is what I've been up to... dreaming of being a pro basketball player for the one and only San Antonio Spurs. Yeah, I'm a nerd... RT
GHol Live Acoustic Set
Posted January 7, 2008 Not too long ago we were given the chance to play a couple of acoustic sets at our local Family Christian Bookstores. It was a total blast and so I thought we should share some of it...
...oh, and so you know, I had been growing a beard (which has now been shaved off, RIP) and my little sister thought it would be funny to be in the crowd wearing some facial hair of her own. it made me laugh. several times. ENJOY! Matthew Posted January 5, 2008 Okay, so I'm a nerd. A geek. Whichever one you'd like to pick. Let's limit it to those two, though, because it could get messy otherwise. I really like technology. Scratch that, I like technology that makes things easier and more productive. Sure I like silly technology too, like video games (Galaga is amazing), but that's not what I want to discuss today. I have lately been into Google and all the tools they have to offer. They are amazing. I can't believe it. ![]() Everyone knows that "Google" is now a verb ("Just 'Google' it," or "I 'Googled' it...'). Right, that's nothing new. What you may not know are all the FREE things they offer besides the search engine. Tools like Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Maps. Well like I said I'm a nerd and I've looked far and wide on the internet for things to make my life easier. I have to tell you, that Gmail is the most fantastic thing in life right now. For the longest time I used Hotmail, and then I was on Mail for Mac, but I have to tell you that Gmail is far superior to either option. Everything is so well integrated and works. AND I just recently found out that Gmail now has AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) built into it. Check this picture out. I'm chatting away whilst drafting email, all in one window. Dig that. (Click on the image for a larger version) I told you, I'm a nerd and/or geek, so things like this entertain and excite me. Thank you Google. Steven P.S. I am not now, nor have I ever been employed by Google. Though they should employ me. It would rock.
Merry New Happy Holidays Christmas Year.
Posted January 3, 2008 A very belated Merry Christmas to you! And a not so belated Happy New Year also. I hope everyone had a very pleasant time with their families and were surrounded by people who love you. We took some time to be with our families and friends and recharged ourselves for the year. I think it will be a very big year for us and I am really excited to get out on the road and meet new people and connect with everyone who are already supporting us. We couldn't do anything of this without your support. Thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you. New tour dates are showing up on the calendar so come back and check it out. Be well today. Steven
a looong day (yes, 3 'o's in long)
Posted December 13, 2007 so. a couple of weeks ago, GHol (for those of you that don't know - GHol is our very own abbreviation for Grey HOLiday... get it?) went through a very intense 20 hours. we were given the chance to play at a San Antonio Rampage (our very own minor league hockey team) game at the AT&T Center on a friday night. So we loaded in and played a set around 9 pm. Directly after that we loaded out and got in our faithful suburban and drove to the north side of town to play at an all-night church lock-in. i believe we started somewhere around 2:00 am. so by the time we played, loaded out of the church, ate some taco cabana and drove home it was about 5:00 am. ouch. the next day, we played an acoustic set at a local Family Christian Bookstore at about 4:00 pm i believe. all in all, we effectively played three shows in under 20 hours. as musicians, what more could we ask for?? attached is my huge, bearded face on the megatron at the AT&T Center. i'm not sure if it's actually called the "megatron" but that's what i'm calling it. so don't make fun of me if i'm wrong. because i'm very sensitive... adios mis amigos. matthew Thank you AT&T Center and UTSA Faith Night! Posted December 4, 2007 Hello all. ![]() I wanted to post some photo goodness (although this photo is not that great) and say thank you for everyone who made our show at the AT&T Center in San Antonio a huge success. We had an amazing time and we look forward to doing it again sometime soon. Many blessings. Steven Happy Thanksgiving! Posted November 22, 2007 Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
